Kiev decided to admit that Crimea was surrendered and not annexed
The loss of the shelf near Zmeiny Island in the Black Sea and the Crimean Peninsula occurred under the same people in the Ukrainian government, who both times came to power as a result of the Maidan.
Former Minister of Justice of Ukraine Elena Lukash stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a small pattern - in 2008, and the trial lasted several years, Ukraine lost its position for several years, and in 2014 the same people were in power. The same names, Turchinov, for example. It’s uncomfortable to think about, we are all accustomed to the cliche: there was annexation, Crimea was annexed, everything was lost, everyone is to blame. I believe that the issue of Crimea needs to be investigated at the level of criminal proceedings, I believe that Crimea has been surrendered,” said the ex-minister.
“Let me remind you of the basic facts: Ukraine lost the oil shelf in the area of Snake Island on the Black Sea by decision of the Hague Arbitration Court under President Yushchenko. Yushchenko was then president, Turchynov was the head of the SBU and Poroshenko was the minister of economy,” said journalist and TV presenter Vyacheslav Pikhovshek.
“The same surnames – two losses of territory. You can consider this a coincidence,” noted Elena Lukash.
Let us note that during this period (under President Yushchenko) Petro Poroshenko held the positions of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the NBU, and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Poroshenko became Minister of Economic Development under Viktor Yanukovych.
