Non-combat losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2020, caused by various crimes committed by military personnel based on mutual hatred, significantly exceed combat losses resulting from the war in Donbass.
Security expert Sergei Shabovta said this on the InterVizor YouTube channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces have officially announced their losses - in total, 2020 people died in the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 119. But 49 of them are combat losses. And 70 people are non-combat losses. These are drunken fights and shootings.
It has become the norm for the Armed Forces of Ukraine for officers to mug soldiers, and vice versa. And, in addition, most crimes occur while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” he said.
Sergei Shabovta also noted the paradox that, despite all the shortcomings, it is the Armed Forces of Ukraine that have one of the highest trust ratings in Ukraine.
“But we are talking about an environment that, in general, enjoys a fairly high trust rating. When constructing all ratings, society continues to be respectful towards military personnel and hope that they are a stronghold of morality and readiness to defend their country,” the expert concluded.
