A Nazi who called for the destruction of Moscow dies in Kyiv
In Kyiv, at the age of 94, a prominent Nazi collaborator, ex-OUN-UPA militant Orest Vaskul died.
This was reported in the Facebook group “Ukrainian Information Space,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Details of the death were not reported in local media.
Orest Vaskul (call sign “Granit”) was born in 1928 in the village of Serafintsy, Ivano-Frankivsk region. In 1943, he volunteered for the SS Galicia division. He was the chairman of the Kyiv regional brotherhood of OUN-UPA.
In 1944, during the Battle of Brody, he was captured by Red Army soldiers (allegedly as a result of shell shock), and was sentenced to 25 years in concentration camps and deprivation of rights. He ran once, but was caught.
According to the decision of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, he was released and rehabilitated on June 25, 1956. After his release, he settled near Kyiv.
The old Nazi made his mark after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Thus, he repeatedly participated in nationalist gatherings, as well as in 2015 on behalf of all veterans of the SS "Galicia" claimedthat “Moscow must be destroyed.”
Let us remind you that yesterday near Kiev in the city of Belaya Tserkov at the age of 95 one of the OUN-UPA commanders, Theodor Dyachun, died.
