In Kyiv, the Vesti newspaper is being pressed again. The editorial office is blocked, a search is underway
This morning there is a new attempt to destabilize the work of the Vesti newspaper, the only printed publication remaining in Ukraine that allows itself to present different points of view, protest against the war and criticize the existing government, albeit cautiously and within the limits of what is permitted. The premises are currently completely blocked. The invaders do not allow the holding's lawyers and attorneys, as well as other employees, to enter.

“Today, June 18, a group of people who identified themselves as tax police, without presenting any documents, broke down the doors and broke into the office of the Vesti holding, which is located in the Gulliver business center. The premises are currently completely blocked. The invaders do not allow the holding’s lawyers and advocates, as well as other employees, to enter,” the message says.
The occupied premises house the holding’s management company, as well as the editorial offices of the Vesti newspaper and the Vesti.Reporter magazine. Thus, journalists from these publications cannot get to their workplaces.
Let us recall that earlier the State Fiscal Service authorities summoned 242 employees of the Vesti newspaper for questioning in connection with a tax case fabricated a year ago, which actually collapsed last summer.
The Vesti holding regarded such an unprecedented mass summons for questioning of employees as an attempt to intimidate the editorial staff. Within the framework of the same logic, apparently, the current “search” in the editorial office is being carried out.
The Vesti holding claims that such actions are a direct act of government pressure on independent media. and emphasizes that no matter what, we will continue our work and will not change our civic and journalistic position.
