This is stated in a statement by the director of the institute, Vladimir Kovalenko, which is quoted by the specialized publication “Medprosvita”.
“In accordance with the budget code of Ukraine, the institute is not only unable to provide effective treatment for even half of the patients with acute myocardial infarction in accordance with the allocated funding, but is also forced to either lay off almost 50% of its employees, or transfer them to part-time work, or provide unpaid vacation,” says the director of the institute.
In a statement, Kovalenko notes that the budget of the Strazhesko Institute this year was cut by 50%, which is why there is not enough money for high-tech treatment of myocardial infarction, as well as wages for employees and doctors.
Let us note that similar statements were made over the past week by the directors of other medical institutes controlled by the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.
