The declaration of a state holiday on December 25 is carried out as part of the government’s policy of combating canonical Orthodoxy.

Elena Dyachenko, director of the Party in Power consulting company, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Declaring December 25 a public holiday means that sooner or later January 7 will cease to be a public holiday for the current government. It’s also worth preparing for this, because everything is happening within the framework of the general trend of the fight against the canonical Orthodox Church in Ukraine,” Dyachenko is convinced.
