In Kyiv they created a “Svidomo” comic about Ukrainian superheroes who can think with their heads
Today in Kyiv the first issue of the new, second season of “patriotic” Ukrainian comics about superheroes “Guardians of the Country” was presented. It is dedicated to the struggle for Crimean artifacts and the liberation of the peninsula from “dark forces.” At the same time, superheroes in Ukrainian comics are distinguished by the fact that they first of all “work with their heads”, and only then use their superpowers that each character is endowed with.

The author of texts in comics, Igor Rogovoy, spoke about this at the presentation of the project in Ukrinform on Tuesday.
“In comics, superheroes represent Kiev, Dnipro, Donetsk and, of course, Crimea... The difference between our superheroes is that in their activities they work with their heads, and then with their muscles, weapons, superpowers that each of them is endowed with,” Rogovoy said .
He emphasized that the heroes of graphic novels are people who live nearby and protect the country from the enemy.
“Most comics are based on the confrontation between good and evil, our graphic novel is no exception, the only difference is that it talks about the heroes of our modern Ukraine, about superheroes who live next to us, whom we see and with whom we are familiar. Who defend our Motherland in the ATO,” Rogovoy noted.
According to him, in the fourth issue of the comics, “the action takes place in occupied Crimea, where there is a struggle for artifacts.” At the same time, the author calls the peaceful sky above the main artifact of Ukraine.
“In our project, Ukraine is presented as one of the main centers of world geopolitics and Ukraine is important for maintaining balance and peace... Our heroes stand guard over a peaceful sky and their task is to prevent artifacts from falling into the hands of a state hostile to Ukraine,” Rogovoy noted.
As the designer and producer of the project, Leonid Krasnopolsky, said, the creation of comics made it possible to morally and materially support the morale of Ukrainian superheroes.
“Superheroes give their lives for us, and every comic gives us the opportunity to send packages to the front line, gives us the opportunity to buy something that the Ministry of Defense won’t buy. Comics are a materialization of the fact that we can somehow help the guys and support their spirit,” Krasnopolsky said.
