The inventory of communist symbols is proposed to be completed by June 28. The specialized commission of the Kiev City Council supported the draft decision of the Kyiv City Council “On the replacement of communist symbols on buildings and structures of municipal property of the territorial community of Kiev.”

“This draft decision was prepared before the adoption of the so-called “Law on Decommunization,” but the deadlines established by the draft decision meet the requirements of the recently adopted law,” the deputy said.
“It is proposed to carry out the inventory of communist symbols before June 28, 2015, and dismantling - before Independence Day, August 24,” Vovchenko noted.
In addition, in accordance with the draft decision, by March 31, 2016, it is proposed to install Ukrainian symbols in place of the dismantled hammers and sickles.
