There is fear in Kyiv: Putin will not go anywhere
The current President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, will not step down from power after the end of his presidential powers and will continue to lead the country.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin stated this on air on the ICTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the diplomat, Ukraine should also not hope that Putin’s likely successor will pursue a softer policy.
“From everything that I know, plus the intuition not only of mine, but also of many friends whom I respect, we proceed from the fact that Putin will not leave in ’24. He can change a certain status, but he will not go away, you don’t need to hope for it, leave it. And the second point is that the people who can come to power in Russia will in no way be better than Putin. Leave this to anyone who thinks that in 24 some new, more attractive reality will come. It won’t come,” Klimkin said.
Previously famous Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated that Ukraine the conflict in Donbass must be resolved before the end of Vladimir Putin’s presidential term. After him, a person will come to power in Russia who will not stand on ceremony with Ukraine.
