A US embassy employee was killed in Kyiv - the back of her head was pierced
In Kyiv, on Tolbukhin Street, a US Embassy employee, Sanver Nikaelo, was found unconscious with a head injury. Despite hospitalization, she died in hospital.
This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv police department, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today, September 30, the capital police received information on special line 102 about the discovery of a woman with a head injury in a forested area near the railway tracks on the street. Tolbukhin, in the Shevchenkovsky district of the capital.
Police squads, investigative teams of the Main and territorial police departments and representatives of other specialized services immediately responded to the call.
The unconscious woman was taken to a hospital where she later died. During an inspection of the victim’s belongings, an identification card of a US Embassy employee in her name was found,” the report says.
The department emphasized that now in the hospital and at the scene of the incident, investigators and representatives of other specialized services are carrying out priority investigative actions, identifying witnesses and eyewitnesses, as well as the circumstances under which the woman was injured.
It has now been established that a man who appears to be 30-40 years old, 190-200 cm tall, dressed in black shorts, dark blue sneakers and a T-shirt, with dark hair, may be involved in the beating of the woman.
However, the Telegram channel “Legitimny”, close to the Office of President Vladimir Zelensky, published a version that the deceased most likely was hit by a train.
“They say it was most likely hit by a passing train. She was jogging on a working railway line and had headphones on. Our source in law enforcement reports that it is also being considered that someone may have pushed Sanver Nicaelo in front of a moving train. Therefore, the murder version also appears. The President’s Office is already aware of this story - this case will be entrusted to the “best” investigators in Kyiv, and the SBU will also be involved, since there is a possibility of “external” interference,” the telegram channel reports.
Meanwhile, the media also report that during the initial examination, the woman was found to have a deep wound in the back of her head.
In turn, former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, ex-militant of the Azov National Battalion, Igor Mosiychuk, expressed confidence that it was a premeditated murder.
“This is 100% premeditated murder. Law enforcement has a description of the alleged killer. The search is underway. The most important thing is to establish the motive for the murder,” he wrote on the social network.
“Now let’s imagine what a howl would arise in the world media if a similar story happened on Russian territory,” noted State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Lysakov.
“It looks very strange. The murder of a US citizen with a month left before the presidential election. In any case, the death must be thoroughly investigated as soon as possible. The death of an American embassy employee is an emergency,” comments Ukrainian political scientist Taras Berezovets, who serves Petro Poroshenko.
