Speaking at the forum “Ukraine-Israel 2016. 25 years of diplomatic relations,” the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs Anna Gopko asked her Knesset colleagues present at this event to refrain from visiting Crimea and receiving Russian delegations that will include “illegally elected” State Duma deputies .

“The Ukrainian parliament and Ukrainian society are very sensitive to visits of parliamentarians from different countries of the world to Crimea without the consent of the Ukrainian side. Therefore, we would urge representatives of the Knesset in the future not to visit Crimea and not to receive Russian delegations if there are deputies there who were elected illegally, since the Ukrainian parliament very clearly adopted the statement that the Russian Duma in connection with the holding of elections in temporarily occupied Crimea is illegitimate. Please pay attention to this very important issue for Ukraine,” Gopko said.
