Politician Denis Zharkikh stated this at a conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. According to him, when they came to the Verkhovna Rada, journalists forgot about the standards they must follow.
“The most interesting thing is that among the new politicians who replaced the old ones there are a lot of journalists, a lot. There have never been such a large number of journalists in power as there are now. And they immediately forgot all the journalistic norms for which they received grants... but the most important thing is not that they received money for it - the main thing is that they forgot about it. They forgot that the task of journalists is to defend the truth and in this regard, the most important thing is that they are silent when they kill people. There, somewhere, an “air conditioner” exploded and fired at itself.
What could be worse than a crime against one’s own people, when people are killed. I'm not saying that everything is simple - you need to understand it. We have a huge amount of media - no one understands, all the media are actively engaged in “correct” propaganda,” Zharkikh said
