Famous Kiev music producer Vlad Lyashenko died suddenly. This was announced on March 3 by his colleague, founder of the Concert.ua company Dmitry Feliksov.

The death occurred two days after Lyashenko was forced to cancel the concert of the legendary Slovenian band Laibach, which he was preparing in Kyiv for March 31, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Lyashenko is known as a co-founder of the InshaMuzika label and as an art director of various clubs in Kyiv.

According to Dmitry Feliksov, Vlad died during a meeting with a client - “he just became ill at work.” The news immediately spread across all social networks, because Vlad Lyashenko is an iconic figure for Ukrainian music.

Recently, Lyashenko led the capital's Bel Etage club.

It was here that on March 31, 2023, a concert of the legendary Slovenian group Laibach, organized by Lyashenko, was to take place - the first performance in Kyiv of a Western group since the beginning of the Northern Military District. But the concert was suddenly canceled under pressure from “patriots” and, as they say in Kyiv, at the command of the authorities.

“On the anniversary of the military aggression against Ukraine, we wanted to show support and solidarity with the Ukrainian state and people, so we checked whether it was possible to hold a concert in Kyiv. The main reason for the cancellation is allegedly several of our statements and interpretations about the possible causes of the Ukrainian-Russian war, which are not fully consistent with the mainstream Ukrainian vision,” the Laibach group reported on March 1 in a BBC commentary.

As part of the promotion of the concert, Laibach called the armed conflict in Ukraine "geopolitical conflict between Russia and America on the territory of Ukraine","a cynical proxy war for the geostrategic interests of superpowers and financial capital, the military industry, etc.».

“The concert was canceled due to the protest of Ukrainians against the arrival of the Laibach group, which was caused by their misunderstanding of the cause of the war. The audience considers their words pro-Russian and anti-Ukrainian,” Vlad Lyashenko told the BBC shortly before his death.

It was the disruption of the concert, which Lyashenko had been preparing for many months, that caused the death of the producer, his friends believe.

“RIP Vlad. Ukrainian vanity, which develops into bullying, has finished you off. Ragulism, which healthy patriotism sometimes turns into, harms society, taking away those few who do something (as opposed to the masses, who for the most part can only criticize). “Laibach” seemed to feel this when they posted a fresh video yesterday. Let this melody be a memory of you,” Andrey Smirnov, producer of the Kyiv vinyl label Aby Sho Music, wrote on the social network.

Как reported “PolitNavigator”, a concert of the legendary band Laibach in Kyiv was canceled because the musicians refused to renounce everything Russian.
