Memorial plaques to Kutuzov and other heroes of the Patriotic War of 1812 were destroyed in Kyiv
In Kyiv, unknown persons demolished memorial plaques on the facades of buildings on Kutuzov, Raevsky, Baykov and Kaisarov streets.

Memorial plaques were installed in 2012 in honor of the 200th anniversary of the Patriotic War of 1812 on the streets bearing the names of its legendary participants: Field Marshal Mikhail Illarionovich Kutuzov, Cavalry General Nikolai Nikolaevich Raevsky, Infantry General Paisiy Sergeevich Kaisarov and Major General Sergei Vasilievich Baykov.
Let us recall that Mikhail Kutuzov from 1806 to 1810. was the Kyiv military governor. Sergei Baykov was also a well-known philanthropist. In the first half of the 1812th century. the slope adjacent to the Lybid valley on the right was granted to the hero of the Patriotic War of 1834, General Sergei Baikov, who was treated after being wounded in the Kiev hospital. In XNUMX, on the initiative of Sergei Vasilyevich, a cemetery was opened here for Catholics and Lutherans (later it was allowed to bury Orthodox Christians there as well).
The production and installation of memorial plaques destroyed by vandals were carried out at the expense of personal donations from Kiev residents.
