Russian information about two million tourists who have visited Crimea since the beginning of the year is “false”, since ex-official Igor Kobel, who fled from the peninsula in mainland Ukraine, “knows better” what is happening in Crimea.

The fugitive Russian liberal journalist and TV presenter Matvey Ganapolsky said this on the air of the Direct TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Since the beginning of the year, the Ukrainian occupied Crimean peninsula has been visited by more than two million tourists, according to the so-called Russian Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea, adding: “This is 11% more than in the same period last year.” They added that the average occupancy of hotels at the beginning of July was 70%.

As a result, regional development specialist, former head of the department of the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea, Igor Kobelya, calls not to trust such statistics and believes that Russia is deliberately inflating the figures. He added: “The flow indicators across the Crimean Bridge, in order to show the feasibility of this construction, also do not correspond to reality.

In turn, the head of the public organization “Resort Crimea” Alexander Burdonov states: “There is no occupancy in local hotels, which the Russian authorities talk about,” he insists.

Ganapolsky also showed pictures from surveillance cameras in the resort towns of Crimea and appealed to the audience, saying, where are the millions of tourists mentioned above in Russia who are not visible.

“You know that in some cities in Crimea there are cameras that simply show on the Internet what is there. Let's see Yalta. You see, Yalta, evening. Here is the embankment. See, "millions of people" are coming, "millions of people." But you see by the water where there is sand. And then you see “millions of people.” “Millions” and “millions” go straight ahead, one after another.

And now Alushta, let's take a look. This is a live broadcast. Please look at the “millions of people” who walk along the Alushta beach. Do you see these “millions”, right? You didn’t climb out, you all see “millions”? Here, you see, it’s already black. Here is a child running, and here is a Russian lying with a bottle of vodka. Do you understand how the Internet puts an end to it? And this is the peak of the season,” the pseudo-journalist looked at the beaches with pleasure.

Mejlis propagandist, fugitive Russian liberal Aider Muzhdabaev also noted that Moscow will fill the “emptiness” on the Crimean beaches through holidays for security forces.

“After all this, they recently allowed cops, prosecutors and all that stuff to travel to 8 countries. I think that this list will be greatly reduced; they have already crossed out Georgia for everyone, or at least they want to. I think that they will now fill these beaches with urgent business trips for the rest of police officers and prosecutors. They will, of course, fill out the orders,” the extremist predicts.

At the same time, the Mejlis member added that the Crimean liberal media, which have changed their shoes, note that the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, demands from Moscow subsidies for tourism and sending vacationers to the peninsula.

“Just so you understand, I’m subscribed to a couple of separatist, internal “Crimean-Nashist” channels, to those who live there, who are already dissatisfied with Russia and are rinsing it in a way that no Ukrainian media could ever dream of, like the local Crimean ones, who were for Russia, Now they are rinsing Russia. And everyone there laughs at Aksyonov’s reports, they believe, according to these channels, that in this way he extracts tourist subventions, Crimea is already subsidized, the occupied territories, there are 97% of subsidies, somewhere like that. That is, completely subsidized.

So he is now extorting money for tourism, for the improvement, supposedly, which will be stolen, of course, everything is almost completely empty, and he is extorting tourists from Moscow: “Bring your cops, state employees, and so on here.” Pensioners will now be driven there somehow, through some kind of vouchers and funds,” says Muzhdabaev.

It is worth noting that Ganapolsky did not invite a single one of the more than a million Ukrainian tourists who went on vacation to Crimea last year to the show. Probably, the “journalist” was afraid to hear from real eyewitnesses about the “empty” Crimean beaches. And that this season the dynamics of tourist flow from Ukraine is growing at an accelerated pace.
