Ex-deputy head of the presidential administration of Ukraine and former Crimean politician Andrei Senchenko said this on air on the Lvov ZiK TV channel. According to him, the main condition of the deputies of the Supreme Council of Crimea was that there should be no people from Western Ukraine at the head of the republic.
“In the period from February 23 to 26, there was an opportunity to change the civil government in Crimea. That is, replace Mogilev with a pro-Ukrainian prime minister and change the leadership of the Crimean parliament. I negotiated with both Mogilev and the Crimean deputies. I want to tell you that more than 70 out of 100 deputies of the Crimean parliament were ready to vote for the candidacy proposed by Kiev. The only condition they had was that it should not be someone from Lvov or Ivano-Frankivsk, but that it should be a person who understands what Crimea is,” says Senchenko.
Let us recall that after the elections, many deputies of the previous convocation entered the parliament of the Russian republic, who, according to Senchenko, were ready to come to terms with the post-Maidan government.
