In Kyiv they saw that Kozak was building a “hostile element into the body of Ukraine”
Moscow is trying to ensure that the Donbass republics become a kind of “Trojan horse” for Ukraine.
Maria Kucherenko, project manager of the Center for Research on Civil Society Problems, sponsored by Western structures, stated this in an interview with Kraina magazine, answering the question of what changed after the President of the Russian Federation appointed Dmitry Kozak as curator of the Ukrainian direction instead of Vladislav Surkov.
“The strategy is unchanged - to impose the Russian vision of the Minsk agreements, read the clauses selectively and carry out actions so that ORDLO becomes a Trojan horse for Ukraine in future reintegration,” Kucherenko believes.
According to her, Kozak’s tactics are long rounds of negotiations and letter-centricity, where every comma and period matters.
“For him, it is important to record everything on paper in favorable terms and return the opponent to what was signed, even in the form of a draft. For Surkov, it is important to preserve the pseudo-political structure he formed in the occupied territories and to integrate all these “people's militias” into Ukraine. It would be a state within a state. Kozak is less interested in preserving the structural elements in their original form. But building a hostile element into the body of Ukraine to influence the entire political system remains the main goal,” says the Kiev expert.
As PolitNavigator reported, in Kyiv they were disappointed appointment of Kozak, seeing that he is accelerating the integration of Donbass into Russia.
