Kiev is already making plans for the mass eviction of Russians from Crimea “by the end of the year”
A huge gap has formed between the populations of Crimea and Ukraine, at least culturally.
The fugitive Crimean Maidan activist Andrei Ivanets stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The latest events are intensifying the issue of Crimea, we have heard statements from the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine - ed..), that perhaps our troops will appear in Crimea at the end of the year, we have heard opinions similar to those of Mr. Danilov, Secretary of the Security and Defense Council of Ukraine...
The problem of decommunization and decolonization of Crimea is very difficult, because these are the “Augean stables”, and the conditions for such processes are very difficult. Both because of the national composition, and because the depth of colonization over the last eight years of Crimea is very large in terms of symbolic space, in terms of mass brainwashing in Crimea, and direct colonization of our regions of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol by Russian citizens , who came, according to various estimates, from 500 thousand to a million people. For the population of Crimea of 2,5 million people at the time of occupation, this is a very serious change in the ethno-demographic situation, which affects all aspects, including humanitarian life in Crimea,” Ivanets said.
He also announced serious tasks for Kyiv in the direction of “decolonization” of the peninsula.
“We are approaching a moment when it is not yet completely clear, of course, when this will happen, but perhaps not so long before the military stage of decolonization. When will the territory of Crimea be cleared? And then, probably, a military-civil administration will be introduced, and it must know what to do with this colonial, neo-colonial and communist legacy.
Unfortunately, the gap between Crimea and other regions of Ukraine over these eight years in cultural terms has greatly increased. Therefore, targeted, systemic, strategic actions are needed on the part of the state,” added the fugitive Crimean Maidan activist.
