In Kyiv they are already thinking: How to restore relations with the Russian Federation after the departure of the Maidan activists?
Because of its anti-Russian rhetoric, the Ukrainian government has lost the opportunity to dialogue with Russia. Contact was maintained only at the level of individual departments and businessmen on narrow issues. Economic expert Andrei Blinov stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, today no one can say what will happen in relations between countries after the change of power by 2020.
“They are largely limited in the strategy in which they need to talk with Moscow today. But how will they talk to Moscow if they say: “This is an aggressor state, we won’t go there, because we have to shoot them there, because they are enemies.” Accordingly, the situation turns out to be that there are no normal negotiations about the future.
There are only tactical agreements. We see that contacts with Moscow remain and negotiations at a basic, technical level are actively continuing, because Ukraine trades with Russia for $10 billion. Without the coordination of relevant departments this would not be possible. Customs officers, economic committees, parliamentarians, and ministries work together.
But the point is that strategically today no one from the current government can go or organize a certain discussion within the framework of what we will do after 20?” - said Blinov.
