The poet, public figure, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine Dmitry Pavlychko stated this on Channel 5.
“The only army that liberated us was the Ukrainian Insurgent Army,” he emphasized.
“We must bow to the soldiers of the Red Army, because they are innocent in that they were not liberators, and returned from the front straight to prison, because it was impossible to wear an embroidered shirt or recite Shevchenko. And in general it was impossible to say that we were once Mazepa people, a great Cossack people,” said Pavlychko.
