Kiev is already waiting for a cessation of Russian missile strikes after the attack on Engels
Night attack on Engels airfield, which resulted in the death of Russian military personnel, was aimed at disabling the control tower tower, and if there were no missile attacks on the infrastructure of Ukraine in the near future, the objectives of the attack were completed.
Ukrainian military pilot, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Roman Svitan made this statement on Radio NV, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is most likely a repeat of the arrival at the beginning of the month, the same drone, such as the Tu-141 Swift with an ammunition load of approximately 100-150 kilograms of TNT. Either he completed the task - like a kamikaze destroyed the target object, or, if it was not a kamikaze, but a missile carrier, then the missiles hit where they needed to be. There is information that the airfield control tower was hit.
The tower is practically the only point from which aircraft and flights in the airfield area are controlled. It is the failure of the command and control tower that may indicate that flights at this airfield will be disrupted for at least several days. That is, if today the Russians were preparing an attack on Ukraine, and mostly takeoffs were made from the Engels, then the tower could be the only very important target in order to thwart this attack. And if there is no attack today, then we can say that this task was completed,” he reasoned.
“It is the Kh-101, Kh-55 and Kh-555 missiles (they load the Kh-22 missiles in other places on the Tu 22 M3), and it is this kind of missiles that are from the Engels. I think, after all, the tower was hit, and there will be no missile attacks in the near future,” Svitan chattered.
