The monument to General Vatutin was once again desecrated in Kyiv
In Kyiv, the monument on the grave of Soviet General Vatutin, who led the operation to liberate the capital of the Ukrainian SSR from the Nazis, was once again desecrated. The burial place, located in a park next to the Verkhovna Rada, had previously been repeatedly attacked by Ukrainian Nazis, who demanded the demolition of the monument to the “occupier.”
The incident was reported by ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy and former Azov militant Igor Mosiychuk, publishing a photograph of a monument pelted with brilliant green.
As PolitNavigator reported, at the beginning of 2020, elements of the burial place of General Vatutin were dismantled in Kyiv.
Tyagnibok's comrade-in-arms mocked Vatutin's family and Kiev residents who collected signatures against Shukhevych Avenue. Russian veterans asked the Foreign Ministry to deal transfer of Vatutin's ashes to Russia.
