In the Darnitsky district of Kyiv, on Sadovaya Street 120 (Osokorki block), ex-deputy head of the Main Directorate of the SBU in Kyiv, Dmitry Demyanenko, was killed.

This happened at approximately 18:00 Kyiv time as a result of a shootout with members of the Myrotvorets special police regiment. Demyanenko allegedly did not stop at the checkpoint, after which his Toyota was caught up and surrounded by several cars with flashing lights, from which armed people jumped out.

Kiev investigative journalist Vladimir Boyko claims that Demyanenko was the first to open fire, the car was riddled with return fire, and the driver was killed.

However, observers do not rule out that the version of the refusal to stop at the checkpoint was deliberately planted in the media - the SBU officer could have been killed as a result of criminal squabbles between the Ukrainian security forces or for a reason that has already become traditional in recent days - suspicion of “working for Russia.”
