The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine expressed concern about the damage to Lesya Ukrainka’s grave on the territory of the Baikovo cemetery in Kyiv.

This is stated in a message on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Culture.
“On the territory of the Baikovo cemetery in Kyiv, unknown persons committed a daring crime - the monument on the grave of the outstanding Ukrainian poetess and public figure Lesya Ukrainka was damaged, vandals tore off the bronze elements of the structure. The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine is extremely concerned about the cynical situation of destruction of monuments that are designed to perpetuate the memory of outstanding Ukrainian figures who are outstanding personalities in the history and culture of our state and regards such actions as vandalism,” the message says.
It is also noted that the investigative team carried out investigative actions at the scene of the crime.
