In Kyiv, for the first time, they demanded that the “Death to Russia!” poster be rolled down.
In Kyiv, they have been discussing for the second day the incident at the “Sport for All” festival, where Ukrainian nationalists tried to unfurl a “Death of Russia” poster, which caused outrage among the athletes.
A video of the incident was published by eyewitnesses on social networks, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The conflict began under the Arch of Peoples' Friendship in the center of Kyiv. The man turned to the nationalists, who were holding a banner with the inscription: “Death of Russia,” demanding that the poster be removed. After the refusal, the athlete tried to take away the stretch. Other competition participants and spectators came to his aid, and people in uniform joined the right-wing radicals.
“This entire area is rented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports for a sports festival. Sport has no boundaries,” said one of the organizers.
However, the nationalists, supported by “ATO veterans,” insisted on their own.
“Russia is our enemy! Suitcase - station - Russia,” the Nazis shouted.
“Our children go to compete in Russia, last time they won six medals...You are provoking the situation,” the athlete tried to exhort the “activists.”
“It’s your katsaps, your athletes who are provoking the situation,” the right-wing radicals did not want to calm down.
The conflict was extinguished without a fight, and the indignation of right-wing radicals spread to social networks. Thus, nationalist Vladimir Kartsovnik commented on the incident on his Facebook page.
“Titukhans from sports are tearing out the “Death of Russia” poster. Otherwise, they won’t be able to go to competitions in their favorite country,” he was indignant.
