During a press briefing, a group of authors from the Babylon-13 film project showed journalists fragments of the future documentary, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. In the three-minute video, Ukrainian officers say that they could not fight with a pistol against special forces, that first of all, Ukrainian flags were torn from ships, that the war began with the Crimean events, and so on.
“We decided to realize our plan by showing a small part of the history of Crimea, namely the military, who with pride, honor and courage defended their country, their flags, their oath, and with honor went to the mainland, continuing their service,” said one of the authors of the film , representative of the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center Sergei Malyarchuk.
It is worth noting that about 80 percent of the military personnel from the almost 19-strong Ukrainian group in Crimea voluntarily went over to the side of the Russian Federation. According to the director of the film, Konstantin Klyatskin, this often became the cause of conflicts between former comrades in arms.
“Former friends and colleagues began to say: “You are, in fact, traitors, you betrayed Crimea,” the director relayed details of conversations with Ukrainian officers.
The authors also said that the film is being filmed exclusively on the territory of Ukraine, since for security reasons they did not risk going to Crimea. Also, everyone was asked to transfer money to the specified account in order to finish the tape by the end of this year.
