The “Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea” is collecting evidence of “illegal seizure of property of television and radio companies in Crimea” for further transfer to the International Criminal Court, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by department employee Daria Shishman during a round table with representatives of broadcasters and public organizations at the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting, the website of this Ukrainian department reports.
It is reported that the meeting was attended by representatives of television and radio organizations that “suffered losses in connection with the occupation of Crimea.”
The “Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea” also reported on its work to collect evidence of “the commission of crimes in the temporarily occupied territory of the Crimean peninsula by so-called government officials.”
“In particular, the unlawful appropriation of property of individuals and legal entities, not caused by military necessity, is a war crime according to the norms of the Rome Statute,” notes the “ARC Prosecutor’s Office.”
The Ukrainian department called on representatives of television and radio organizations to write statements about “committing illegal actions against them in the occupied territory of the Crimea Peninsula” - with a view to sending them to the International Criminal Court.
