An Italian journalist who was traveling to Odessa to make a film about the May 2 tragedy was detained in Kyiv.
Italian journalist Giorgio Bianchi, who intended to attend mourning events in Odessa dedicated to the next anniversary of the tragedy of May 2, 2, was detained at the Kiev Boryspil airport, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced by the president of the Italian public organization “Speranza” Irina Vikhareva.
According to her, in 2015, Bianchi officially traveled from Ukraine to the Donbass, where he took a series of photographs, with which he later participated in exhibitions, and also began work on a documentary film.
“Giorgio was going to continue working on the video material, in particular, to record several interviews with residents of Ukraine, including in Odessa, but upon arrival [in Kiev] he was detained, informed about the decision to ban entry and warned that he would be deported on the first flight “, Vikhareva informed. “However, Giorgio later reported that instead of boarding the plane, he was taken back for questioning. According to him, the case may be leading to charges of aiding terrorists,” she continued.
According to Vikhareva, on May 2 in Odessa, Bianchi intended to attend mourning events on the occasion of the next anniversary of the tragic death of 48 people in the House of Trade Unions.
