This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv police, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At about 22 p.m., the police received a message from a hospital patient that her mobile phone was missing. She suspected her roommate's son of the theft.
Patrol police arrived at the scene to clarify the circumstances. While they were talking with the victim, the father of the guy whom the applicant suspected of theft came into the room. The man was drunk, began to argue, and then, according to witnesses, took three ammunition out of the bag. At the same time, he began to threaten patients, medical staff and police officers with grenades, because he believed that the accusations against his son were unfounded.
Negotiations began with the attacker to prevent a possible explosion. Therefore, after some time, the nurse managed to convince her husband to give her one grenade in exchange for the opportunity to freely leave the premises of the medical institution.
When the police and explosives experts arrived, the Kiev resident ran away, and the woman handed over the ammunition without a fuse to the policeman.
In the end, special forces officers detained him and took him to the Pechersk police department for investigative actions. In addition, the police are establishing where the man left two grenades, since he did not have them at the time of his arrest.
The collected information on this fact was registered under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 4 of Art. 296 (hooliganism) and part 1 of Art. 263 (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives). Law enforcement officers are clarifying all the circumstances of the crime, communicating with witnesses and eyewitnesses.
