A Ukrainian militant who fled from Crimea was detained in Kyiv
In Kyiv, the Ukrainian militant Roland Melia, one of the founders of the Donbass battalion and the Liberation movement, who fled from Crimea, was detained.
Samopomich deputy Egor Sobolev wrote about this on his Facebook page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the militant was stopped by a police patrol while he was carrying his wife. Roland Melia was taken to the Dnieper district police station
“Lawyers are not allowed to see detained Rukh Liberation activist Roland Melia. They also tried not to let me in, contrary to the requirements of the law regarding the powers of a people’s deputy. Until you start screaming, Avakov-Abroskin’s students don’t understand,” the people’s deputy complained.
A little later, Sobolev reported that the police of the Donetsk region took the detainee.
“That means they were tracking him. And they are probably taking them to Mariupol, where more than one of our activists was imprisoned. It turns out that Roland has been wanted since December last year according to the order of the Oktyabrsky District Court of Mariupol. Allegedly for illegal possession of weapons,” he wrote.
“Roland is a migrant from Crimea, a volunteer. He was one of the organizers of a 137-day campaign of pressure on Grushevsky last fall-winter demanding the adoption of anti-corruption laws,” Sobolev praised his “brother.” – On the day the action began, October 17, at the direction of Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko, the Donetsk region police began to investigate at least ten proceedings against our activists. All this is supervised by the first deputy head of the National Police, Vyacheslav Abroskin.”
