In Kyiv they started talking about exchanging Donbass for Crimea
It is possible that the United States may shelve the Crimea issue in its relations with Russia without declaring it publicly.

Political scientist Alexey Yakubin said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We see that Volcker is actively trying to tie the implementation of Minsk to the lifting of sanctions. I think this is very significant. Someone in Kyiv might even say that Volker may be trying to further discuss the topic of exchanging Crimea for the situation in the east. That is, roughly speaking, an improvement in the situation in the east in exchange for the fact that the United States will not publicly, but shelve the issue of Crimea,” the expert said.
In his opinion, this is an interesting detail by which it will be possible to judge how ready Kyiv is also to make such a compromise non-publicly.
“The fact that Volker emphasized that without Ukraine no one will decide its fate is also very significant. This shows you and me that such discussions are still taking place,” Yakubin believes.
