In Kyiv they started talking about the evacuation of critical infrastructure to Poland
Ukraine should have immediately after February 24 urgently begun evacuating all its facilities as far as possible from the impact zone of Russian missiles.
The head of the Ukrainian Union of Utility Consumers Oleg Popenko said this in a video blog of Kiev political scientist Yuri Romanenko, against whom a criminal case has been opened in the Russian Federation for calling for the murder of Russian journalists, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He stressed that it is high time to create demilitarized zones near the Russian border.
“We need to abandon the idea, for example, of part of the regions, as was done between North and South Korea - a 50-kilometer demilitarized zone where there is no one: no villages, cities - nothing, everything is completely closed. We must make the distance from 50 to 70 km from the border with Russia, remove everything from there.
And it’s important not to even think about the fact that “Here, come on, there are villages there...”. There will be no life there! We must understand that in the next three, five years - I don’t know how long, there will be no life there. And there’s nothing to even plan,” Popenko is convinced.
He also called for attention to the issue of relocating critical infrastructure.
“Transfer of the entire infrastructure to Western Ukraine - even to the point of transporting it to Poland. As shown, the missiles reach Kremenchug perfectly: one missile hit a shopping center, the second hit a stadium, and the third hit a factory, specifically a workshop. Therefore, now we need to think and transport all our power as far as possible from the impact zone of all missiles. All the way to Poland – create joint ventures and think now.
We have already lost four months. Whatever the experience of the Soviet Union - good or bad, in 1941 they collected all the mechanical engineering and carriage building in Ukraine and completely transported it beyond the Urals within a few months until September. Ukraine should have done the same from February 24,” the expert added.
