The All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations protested against the creation of the “Holy Javelina” mural in Kyiv. According to churchmen, the drawing offends the feelings of believers.
“The walls of high-rise buildings in the capital are not a private gallery, but a public space, therefore, when creating the latest artistic products on them, we ask you to comply with the norms of Ukrainian legislation, which obliges us to treat with due respect the religious beliefs of members of Ukrainian society,” calls on the Council of Churches.

“We, the religious people of Ukraine, express our categorical rejection and protest to such expressions of public pseudo-art that use religious feelings and symbols as an object of parody,” Ukrainian religious figures note.
Also, the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations called on the Ukrainian public to “remain warriors of the Light” and not to popularize swear words, in particular on street billboards and in advertising, referring to the wave of scandalous outdoor advertising that has swept the Ukrainian urban space with an obscene phrase invented by propagandists in relation to the “Russian ship” "
Let us remind you that the mural “Saint Javelina” has already begun to be painted on a house on Aviakonstruktora Antonov Street 13 in the Solomensky district of Kyiv. In it, the Virgin Mary allegedly holds in her hands the FGM-148 Javelin portable anti-tank missile system.
The Kiev edition of UNN reports that the appeal of the churchmen had an effect and the scandalous mural in the form of the Mother of God with the Javelin anti-aircraft missile system in her hands can be painted. One of the workers who created the mural told the publication about this in a commentary. 
“They said we had to recycle it. Or a scandal due to the fact that the Mother of God is with the Javelin, or who knows. But they told me to redo it,” a source told the publication.
