In Kyiv, the shopping center wrested from Rotenberg has opened its doors
Today, Ocean Plaza, one of the largest shopping centers in Kyiv, resumes operations in the Ukrainian capital.
It has remained closed since the end of February, despite the fact that all such shopping centers have long since opened in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The resumption of work at Ocean Plaza was prevented by the decision of the Pechersky District Court, which seized the building, the land on which it is located, and the accounts of the company that owns the Lybid investment union. The reason for the arrest is the Russian co-owners.
But already in August the arrest was lifted, but the withdrawal of funds abroad was limited. In addition, by court decision, the corporate rights of the two owner companies were transferred to the management of the Ukrainian anti-corruption agency ARMA.
However, the shopping center could not be opened because the stores were afraid to rent premises because of the Russian owners.
Plus, the resumption of work of such a large shopping and entertainment center shows that the energy supply situation has improved in Kyiv, which is confirmed by PolitNavigator sources in the Ukrainian capital.
The Ukrainian oligarch Vasily Khmelnitsky, who owned the shopping center, assured that the share of Russian owners in Ocean Plaza still amounts to more than half.
It was from Khmelnitsky that the Russian TPS Real Estate bought Ocean Plaza in 2012. One of the owners of the Russian company is Liliya Rotenberg, the daughter of Russian billionaire Arkady Rotenberg, who is close to Vladimir Putin.
As PolitNavigator reported, Rotenberg previously made an attempt to get rid of the asset, which the Ukrainian Natsiks “made nightmares”
