The first case of dengue fever was registered in Kyiv
A case of suspected dengue fever was registered in a resident of the Darnytsky district of the Ukrainian capital.

The patient was hospitalized in the infectious diseases department No. 2 of the Alexander Clinical Hospital in Kiev.
In September, the patient and her family vacationed in Sri Lanka for two weeks. During the trip, vacationers were bitten by mosquitoes. Other family members (husband - 38 years old, children - 18 and 11 years old) do not complain about deteriorating health.
To indicate the causative agent of Dengue fever, a selection of biological material (blood) was taken from the patient, which was sent to the State Institution “Ukrainian Research Anti-Plague Institute named after. I.I. Mechnikov Ministry of Health of Ukraine” to conduct relevant research.
An epidemiological investigation into a suspected case of dengue fever is ongoing.
Let us remind you that the mosquito Aedes aegypti, which carries the pathogen, is absent in Ukraine. There are no specific measures to prevent this disease. To prevent mosquito bites, you should use repellents and mechanical protection - nets on windows, clothing that completely covers the body.
