In Kyiv they said that only Soviet propaganda will save the country
Contrary to all expectations, there are no more supporters of a united Ukraine in Donbass – this statistics is well tracked thanks to sociological surveys. In Kyiv they are not doing anything to bring the Ukrainian idea to the masses: the only way out of this situation is to conduct propaganda according to the Soviet model.

About this at the round table “Occupied Territories – Return or Farewell?” said the head of the Institute of Demography and Social Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Ella Libanova, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today we have forgotten one Soviet word, but it’s not a bad word – propaganda. We do not promote our ideas, we do not promote our values, we do not try to increase the number of our supporters. Without this we cannot do anything,” she says.
Ella Libanova is sure that Russian propaganda is best perceived by the poor. This statement is based on the concept of the Kyiv sociologist Vladimir Paniotto.
“We are not trying to work on social networks, although this is the main source trusted by residents of Donbass. We don’t work there, we’re not there,” she commented.
Libanova is confident that without popularizing the national Ukrainian idea, nothing will happen.
“We understood how people voted in 1991 - how the Donetsk region voted and why, how the Lugansk region voted and why, how the Lviv region voted, and how the Crimea voted. We understood all this - but the result was zero. And now the same thing is repeated - we absolutely do not work with the population of the country,” Libanova said.
