In Kyiv they complain that the Skripal case has benefited Russia
In the case of the so-called poisoning in Great Britain of former GRU colonel, British spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter, there are still a lot of ambiguities and questions.
Iliya Kusa, an expert on international politics at the Ukrainian Institute of the Future, stated this in an interview with the Kiev online publication “Apostrophe”.
“I am still skeptical about this story with the poisoning of the Skripals; there are still a lot of questions about this: what happened to the Skripals, where are they, why didn’t they die? I remember a comment from the co-inventor of Novichok, who said that this chemical was more lethal than the American Vicks. If he is stronger, then why didn't they die? What happened to the chemical poisonings in Amesbury? Many things are still unclear, except that Russian GRU agents did it,” Kusa said.
According to him, the West's reaction to the incident was not as radical as many expected.
“The use of chemical weapons on the territory of another state is a very serious crime, it is essentially tantamount to an act of aggression, as they said in Britain. For me, the poisoning of the Skripals is an insufficiently understood, mystical story that was simply successful for everyone, including some of the Russian elites who are interested in confrontation with the West. We must understand and remember all this,” the expert noted.
