In Kyiv they complain that they cannot provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with any shells
In order for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to at least somehow resist the Russian army, Ukraine needs to produce one hundred thousand shells per month.
Ukrainian political strategist Alexander Kochetkov stated this in the Alpha Media online channel, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We need to produce one hundred thousand 155-caliber ammunition per month. This is the minimum amount to somehow feel calmer. But here we run into a lot of difficulties.
155 caliber is a general concept. And we have a dozen types of howitzers. And not all shells are interchangeable. Let's produce at least twenty thousand basic ones. But this is more complicated - there are different gunpowder and shells,” said the political scientist.
However, Kochetkov emphasized that Ukrainian production is no longer capable of this.
“Let’s first make three types of Ukrainian howitzers, we will produce one hundred thousand shells per month for them. Within a year we will receive two hundred million, and this will more or less be enough to conduct hostilities for some time.
But now I don’t think it’s possible to produce one hundred thousand shells a month. Not to mention producing a thousand howitzers of the same type for which these shells will fit. And so with every serious problem,” he concluded.
