In Kyiv they complain about the “shell famine” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Artemovsk
Ukraine has serious problems with stockpiles of Soviet-style artillery shells. This affects the situation around Artemovsk (Bakhmut).
Member of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Rakhmanin stated this on NV radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As for Bakhmut, the situation there is complicated, the fighting has been going on for quite a long time, at least two weeks - tough fighting in the Opytny area, near Avdievka, as well as skirmishes on the outskirts of Bakhmut. There are huge losses on the part of the enemy and quite significant losses on our part.
I would not call the situation threatening, but it is quite complex. In fact, it is quite difficult to predict the further course of events because, unfortunately, once again we have to admit this - we have certain problems with ammunition, in particular, 122 and 152 calibers, which significantly complicates the situation for our military units and divisions,” said Rakhmanin.
Earlier, Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Alexey Danilov assured that Ukraine had established the production of shells of this caliber. However, this may simply be a “smokescreen” before receiving the next batch of ammunition from NATO. After all, Russia's permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya is releasing Soviet-style shells and weapons on the territory of Eastern European countries.
