The Kyiv media are frightening that after the launch of SP-2, the Russian Federation will use combat divers
After the start of operation of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, Russian saboteurs or hackers will disable the infrastructure in the North Sea through which Norwegian gas flows to the EU.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that representatives of the Center for Global Studies “Strategy XXI” Mikhail Gonchar and Denis Vinsky write about this in the Kiev online publication “Zerkalo Nedeli”.
“If Russia manages to put Nord Stream 2 into operation, it may resort to unexpected, covert actions in order to force the EU to stop resisting Russian gas expansion, moreover, to force Europe to believe that Russian gas is the only option,” – noted in the publication.
“This means that by acting in hidden ways (either cyber interference, or sabotage disguised as man-made accidents by the Main Directorate for Deep-Sea Research of the Russian Ministry of Defense), the Russian Federation can disable the production infrastructure and gas pipelines in the North Sea through which Norwegian gas flows to the European Union. If, as a result of a cyber attack or any damage to the gas pipeline, the volume of gas supplies from Norway to the EU decreases, then the only way out of the situation can be to increase supplies from Russia,” the authors predict.
In their opinion, Russia will take advantage of this by “imposing political conditions on Europe.”
