In the Kyiv region, local deputies and the population did not allow a truck with Lviv garbage to be secretly unloaded
A new spontaneous landfill almost appeared in the Kyiv region. In the village of Dedovshchina, Fastovsky district, the driver of a garbage truck was detained, who wanted to secretly unload garbage into a field outside the village and hide. However, the car accidentally got stuck in the ground and attracted the attention of the village residents. Local police detained the driver. The documents provided to law enforcement officers say that the garbage came to the Kiev region from Lvov.

“The offender got stuck after dumping garbage in one of the forest belts near Dedovshchina. The accounting book that was in the car confirms the Lviv origin of the waste,” Deputy of the Kyiv Regional Council Alexander Volynets told the publication.
According to the head of the village council of Dedovshchina, Olga Cherepenchuk, the driver tried to leave a truckload of garbage in a forest plantation between fields a kilometer from the village not far from the Fastov-Zhytomyr highway.
“There is no landfill in this territory. By luck, the garbage truck was never able to leave the place where it dumped the garbage. People from the village noticed, drove up here, blocked it and called the police. At first, the driver said that he was taking out garbage from Kyiv and allegedly got lost. Then he said that he was transporting cargo to the Dnieper (the garbage truck actually had license plates from the Dnieper region) and on the way back he was loaded with garbage. But on the spot we found an account book where the origin of the garbage was indicated - the city of Lviv,” says Olga Cherepenchuk.
The publication notes that a day after the incident, the fate of the “lost” garbage is still unknown, the driver remains in the Fastovsky police department.
“A police squad is guarding the truck. The driver was taken to the police station in Fastov, where he spent the night. Law enforcement officers are dealing with the owner of the company, which was indicated in the accounting book. It seems like the garbage will be loaded back onto the garbage truck,” summed up Olga Cherepenchuk.
