A resident of the Kyiv region wanted to sell her two-year-old son for 35 thousand US dollars.

Law enforcement officers learned that a resident of the Kyiv region was looking for a buyer for her own son. Based on this fact, criminal proceedings were opened under Part 3 of Article 149 (trafficking in persons or other illegal agreement regarding a person) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
As it turned out, a 22-year-old resident of Vasilkov lived with her partner and two-year-old son. The woman led an immoral lifestyle, which led to constant quarrels in the family and assault from her partner. The child became the main cause of distress in the family, so the woman decided to sell him.
“Having valued her own child at 35 thousand US dollars, the attacker began looking for clients for “human goods.” Having found a buyer, the woman insisted on selling her son as soon as possible. At the same time, she wanted to make sure that her son would not be returned to her,” the police said.
Today, October 25, police detained a woman while receiving money for her son.
Currently, a set of necessary investigative actions is being carried out and the issue of announcing suspicion to her is being decided.
She faces a penalty of imprisonment for up to 15 years with or without confiscation of property.
