The Kiev budget does not have money for benefits for pensioners and veterans, but there is money for renaming streets
While the budget of the Ukrainian capital does not have money to maintain benefits for using public transport, Kiev City Council is ready to spend hundreds of thousands of hryvnia on renaming streets. And this does not take into account the costs that residents themselves must bear for re-registration of documents.

Deputy of the Kyiv City Council Alexander Vovchenko believes that the capital’s streets should be renamed in honor of the “heroes of the heavenly hundred” and ATO fighters.
“I am sure that by the end of the year all streets associated with the communist totalitarian regime will be renamed. They will either have their historical names returned, or a decision will be made to rename them in honor of the “heroes of the heavenly hundred,” the people who died in the ATO. Streets should be named after them,” the deputy said.
He noted that first of all, four streets will be renamed: Lenin, Krupskaya, as well as those associated with the names of security officers.
According to Vovchenko, not much money is needed to rename streets.
“Replacing one sign will cost about 100 hryvnia, and in general on the street, on average, ten signs need to be replaced, that is, we are talking about the amount of 1000 hryvnia to rename one street. These funds will be able to be found in the capital’s budget,” the Kyiv City Council deputy is convinced.
