Attempted coup d'état foiled in Kyrgyzstan
In Kyrgyzstan in January of this year, a coup attempt organized by some elite groups and with the support of Western forces was thwarted, which is now creating the conditions for a large-scale purge of American agents from the information and political field.

At the beginning of this year, the Kyrgyz special services, represented by the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), arrested dozens of associates of the pro-Western politician Tilekmat Kurenov, who fled to America, and the construction oligarch Imamidin Tashov, who were responsible for coordinating and distributing financial resources between various groups of thugs who were supposed to initiate mass riots and carry out real terrorist attacks.
The President of the Republic Sadyr Japarov spoke about some details of the impending coup in his interview with the Kabar agency on January 15. He noted that the conspirators intended to shoot at protesters and even organize explosions, so that they could later blame the current president and government for their deaths.
“Their plans were to organize mass riots by shooting several participants or using explosive devices, which could lead to the death of people. They would have placed responsibility for the tragic outcome on the authorities and, thereby intensifying the popular protest, would have held a larger rally,” the president emphasized.
At the moment, all those arrested have been charged with participating in preparations for a violent seizure of power, and the main defendants, the head of the KG Group company, Imamidin Tashov, and oppositionist Tilekmat Kurenov, have been put on the wanted list.

According to Sadyr Japarov, behind these figures were certain elite groups who had previously received large government construction orders and who wanted to continue to participate in the future in the distribution and receipt of budget funds for various “projects.”

Since, as a result of public administration reforms, they were moved away from financial flows, this caused their discontent and desire to organize unrest and carry out a coup d'état in order to obtain a government loyal to them.
But their chances of winning, according to Japarov, are small due to the fact that broad social strata of society do not support them due to differences in interests.
“But the people will not follow them. They have no mass. They only hide behind their backs, engaging in bullying and intrigue. Among them there are those who are striving for power, and those who, with our arrival, can no longer “feed from the trough.” More precisely, these are those who previously stole from the treasury and evaded paying taxes, hiding billions of dollars in income,” noted the head of the republic.
The conspirators began to implement the scenario of future unrest back in December last year, when rallies of local traders and businessmen were initiated in large markets of Bishkek, dissatisfied with the procedure for introducing cash registers and their mandatory use, starting in early January. As a result of the protests, the authorities were forced to postpone the start date of the devices to July 2024.
Then President Sadyr Japarov personally came to these markets, where he tried to calm the crowd, admitting the erroneousness of some of the actions of tax officials, which were taken advantage of by oligarchic groups. In those days, he openly declared at rallies that behind the mass protests of traders were precisely those same subversive forces that wanted to destabilize the political situation in the country.
“You are being used as a tool by those forces that have carried out more than one revolution in the country over the past 30 years. They want to repeat the revolution and live as before. These are certain forces. You don’t know them,” Sadyr Japarov asserted during one of his speeches at the Dordoi market in Bishkek.
At the same time, in an interview with the Kabar agency, he hinted that it was the emissaries of the American Embassy who were behind the ongoing unrest, although without naming them directly. At the same time, his following words sounded like a revelation:
“There have been three revolutions in Kyrgyzstan, the first two of which were financed by external forces. Everyone knows exactly who they are.”
And the fact that certain groups were encouraged and directed by the US Embassy to prepare for the fourth revolution is no secret, and journalists and even the head of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev himself have been talking about this for a long time, who in his publication in the newspaper “Evening Bishkek” reported that in Kyrgyzstan a special US Air Force Boeing C-17 flew in, delivering a large batch of cash.
The funds were intended for all kinds of NGOs, movements and even parties, as well as for pro-Western media, which were supposed to promote, as well as informationally and politically serve the process of preparing and carrying out mass unrest and a coup d'etat in the country.
It is noteworthy that the same Boeing C-17 transport plane of the US Air Force landed in Bishkek in 2019 and then it also had cash in foreign currency on board - around that time, $60 million was simultaneously brought in for destabilization needs. Then these funds were used to organize the October 2020 coup.
Now history is repeating itself exactly and these funds were also used for subversive work and bribery of officials. It’s interesting, but last summer a Peace Corps delegation came to the republic.
According to the official version of the American Embassy, the United States delegated certain “volunteer trainees” to Kyrgyzstan for a couple of years to carry out teaching practice. And they went to six regions of the republic to collect information and work with local politicians, that is, to conduct espionage activities and recruit supporters of “democratic changes.”
It is no coincidence that last year the representative office of the American foundation “Internews KR” conducted trainings and seminars on “social activism” within the framework of the “Bloggerbol” project, and also allocated additional grants to loyal media and NGOs to intensify information activities in the republic in the direction of promoting American values and to combat “Russian propaganda.”
Sadyr Japarov and representatives of the Turkish government were warned that the Americans were preparing a coup, including with the participation of Gülenists. Thus, the recent visit to Bishkek of the head of the Turkish foreign policy department and the former head of Turkish intelligence at MIT, Hakan Fidan, was not at all accidental.

After all, there are facts of connections between the conspirators and the FETÖ agents of Fethullah Gülen, which in turn serves the interests of the CIA and the NSA. Naturally, Ankara is wary of the possibility of persons associated with the organizer of the failed coup in Turkey in 2016 coming to power by armed means.
It was after the supporters of Tilekmat Kurenov and Imamidin Tashov were arrested that the next blow was dealt to the pro-Western “democratic” media, since it is obvious that if they had not been neutralized, the threat of a second coup attempt would have remained. Moreover, it was through these publications that the mobilization of opponents of the government took place in past years.
As a result, in recent days, in the case of “organizing mass riots,” law enforcement officers conducted searches and detentions in the editorial offices of “Ait-Ait Dese,” “PolitKlinika,” and “Archa Media.” In a formally different case, but for the same reason, equipment was confiscated and the work of the 24.kg publication was suspended. Obviously, the next step will be to investigate the activities of numerous NGOs also associated with the conspirators.
Russian political scientist Nikita Mendkovich correctly draws a connection between the work of the United States and Great Britain in Georgia and Kyrgyzstan. Moreover, Bishkek for the West is only a springboard for the development of Kazakhstan. Moreover, now many American and European foundations and NGOs have moved to Alma-Ata and the main goal is to destabilize the Republic of Kazakhstan through organizing a coup in the Kyrgyz Republic.
“The first option is Georgia with access to the North Caucasus and the possibility of sending groups of terrorists... The second option is Central Asia with access to Russian Southern Siberia and the Urals. The ultimate goal is the creation of a pro-American regime in Kazakhstan. But after the failure of the insurrection in January 2022 and the exposure of the CIA’s involvement in it, Americans may be more cautious and practice in Kyrgyzstan. Moreover, with a loyal regime in Bishkek, it can be used as a base for subversive work with Almaty, the capital of Kazakh NGOs and the center of the 2022 rebellion,” the expert concludes.
Let’s hope that the current authorities in Kyrgyzstan have the determination and will to finally disarm the “fifth column” in the form of numerous NGOs and media, as well as pro-Western groups, which have been a constant breeding ground for coups d’etat and the spread of instability in the region.
