Kirovograd, May 19 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – In Kirovograd, at the Flight Institute, a memorial plaque was installed to the ace pilot, participant in the Second World War, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Honored Test Pilot of the USSR, National Hero of the Crimean Tatar people, Aviation Lieutenant Colonel Amet-Khan To the Sultan.

The event was attended by representatives of local authorities and the Crimean Tatar people, military personnel of the local garrison, cadets of the Flight Academy and students, representatives of the Crimean Tatar people, as well as Amet-Khan Sultan’s cousin, Nebe Sadlaev.
According to the deputy chairman of the regional state administration, Vita Atamanchuk, the fact that the memorial plaque appeared in Kirovograd, the geographical center of Ukraine, is quite symbolic in the current situation.
“The opening of this plaque should not only honor the hero Amet-Khan Sultan, but also become a symbol of unity with the Crimean Tatars. We understand the difficult situation in which they find themselves. The people of Kirovograd and all of Ukraine express their support to them,” the official said.
