In Kirovograd, “defenders of Ukraine” were thanked with the help of a torchlight procession
In Kirovograd, renamed Kropyvnytskyi by the current government against the wishes of its residents, a torchlight procession was organized to coincide with tomorrow’s so-called “Day of Defender of Ukraine,” celebrated by decision of the Kiev authorities on the day of the founding of the UPA, which collaborated with Hitler.

“From the monument to the Guardian Angel to the Maidan Heroes Square, Kropyvnytskyi residents staged a torchlight procession. The event was organized for Defender of Ukraine Day. Up to 30 citizens took part in the event. 20 law enforcement officers ensured the protection of public order. According to the organizer of the event, they purchased the torches in advance from the store. 50 pieces were prepared. The purpose of this event was to honor the memory of fallen heroes and gratitude to the defenders in the ATO zone,” the message says.
“Today we decided to hold such a march so that together, as a single hearth, we can walk and honor the memory of the heroes. We want to remind the townspeople that there is a war going on in Ukraine and we have real heroes whom we knew a few years ago, and they were among us. Today there are also heroes who continue to defend the integrity of the Ukrainian borders, and we want to thank them,” organizer Sergei Kostenko told reporters.
During the protest, law enforcement officers blocked traffic on the street.
