In Chisinau, the State Department will hold a master class on silencing undesirables
James P. Rubin, special representative of the US State Department and coordinator of the US Center for Global Engagement, will visit Moldova and Latvia on September 18-21, the State Department press service reports.
Special Envoy James Rubin will meet in Chisinau and Riga with representatives of host governments “to strengthen partnerships in countering disinformation.”
He will also meet with representatives of civil society and independent media to discuss their role in countering the manipulation of information by foreign countries, as well as their attempts to use disinformation to undermine democracy and national security.
In other words, a representative of the American State Department will teach the countries of the former USSR how to introduce censorship and silence objectionable opponents. It is doubtful that by manipulation of information by foreign states Washington means Radio Liberty, Voice of America, Euronews or Deutsche Welle.
