Nationalist militants clashed with police in Chisinau
The clash between the so-called “veterans of the Russian-Moldavian war” and the police occurred on Sunday in the center of Chisinau, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Participants in the aggression against Transnistria are holding a rally for the second Sunday in a row. The organizers agreed on the main square of the Moldovan capital as the venue for the event, but the “veterans” also tried to block the street in front of the parliament and entered into a violent confrontation with law enforcement officers.
However, order was quickly restored.
Moldovan journalists who observed the action note that it was directed not only against the president and the government, but was also openly Russophobic in nature. There was a call to “repel the empire,” that is, to prevent Moldova from taking a loan from the Russian Federation.
“Veterans” called President Vladimir Putin obscene curses, just like the Ukrainian Maidan activists. Participants in the protests generally called for following the example of Ukraine - throwing officials into trash cans and dousing them with brilliant green.
The biggest mystery of the event was the man wrapped in the Swedish flag. Apparently there weren’t enough Romanian flags, under which the “veterans” usually perform, for everyone.
