In Chisinau they were afraid that the next Moldovan parliament would no longer be pro-European
Maia Sandu's Action and Solidarity party is rapidly losing ground among voters. There is a risk that a clear pro-European majority will not be created after the 2025 parliamentary elections.
This was stated by former member of the Moldovan Parliament from the pro-Western ACUM bloc Alexandre Slusari, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the general local elections showed that citizens' trust in the Action and Solidarity party has decreased significantly. They are losing support among voters who supported this party in the 2021 elections. There is a risk that after the 2025 vote, pro-European forces will no longer have a clear majority in parliament.
“The government must worry that in 2025 the democratic process called elections will steal the European vector. Analyzing the figures, we understand that we can no longer bet that the PDS will continue to be represented in the majority. If the PDS does not learn from its mistakes and continues to say one thing and do another, we will not achieve anything,” he said.
