About it writes the Western Ukrainian information portal “PRESS-CENTER”.

The talk is about a monument to Felix Dzerzhinsky in the village of Ekaterinivka, Sarnensky district, Rivne region.

In the end, the monument was eventually demolished by Right Sector militants and fighters of the 10th ZBAT DUK PS, but with an incredible scandal of local significance, part of which was captured on video.

This is what the members of the Right Sector of Rivne region themselves wrote on their social network page.

They threw a noose around “Iron Felix’s” neck, beat his concrete legs with a sledgehammer, and cut off the metal supports with an autogenous gun. After 2 hours, the monument came under strong pressure from the patriots and fell. Then he was taken out on a bulldozer,” the report says.

At the same time, not all village residents were happy with such vandalism. And the attitude of ordinary local peasants to the personality of Dzerzhinsky is not as clear as that of the local Banderaites.

The act of vandalism was preceded by a real scandal. When visiting Rivne Right Sector activists came to the village to tear down the monument, the peasants, together with the village mayor, tried to defend the monument from the armed nationalists.

Almost half the village gathered at the monument to the chief security officer, and there were also police representatives. At first, the “right-seekers” tried to knock down “Iron Felix” with their hands. The vandals put a rope around his neck. But nothing worked out. In Soviet times, monuments were erected conscientiously.

After which the vandals touched the other end of the rope to a car, although even here the monument survived. They started hitting the sculpture with a sledgehammer, then cutting it with an autogenous gun, but the local residents just laughed: “He won’t give in to you.”

In a verbal skirmish with the leaders of the Right Sector, the chairman of the village council, Vladimir Onishchuk, assured that they themselves would have demolished it according to the law, but within the established time frame. And ordinary peasants are generally against the demolition of the monument: they say that they were already accustomed to Dzerzhinsky when he was painted.

Residents of Yekaterinovka insist: “It’s as if children were walking here.” Some peasants generally say: “If only we had such a president, then there would be order!”

One of the local men rushed at the “pravosek” with fists, but he was quickly calmed down.
